The parliamentary group of the MRF-NEW BEGINNING - is carefully and thoroughly monitoring all processes related to Bulgaria's transition from the Bulgarian lev to the Euro, as well as other matters of concern to Bulgarian citizens on the eve of the New Year.
In their daily communication with the Bulgarian people, the parliamentary deputies of the MRF– NEW BEGINNING – have been informed of about speculative price increases as a major problem. These concerns are further exacerbated by the ongoing political crisis and the associated suspicions of low control and insufficient sanctions against offenders.
As part of their consistent and active work to protect Bulgarian citizens, the Parliamentary Group of the MRF– NEW BEGINNING have asked for specific information from the competent institutions - the Consumer Protection Committee, the Commission on the Protection of Competition , and the Commission on Commodity Exchanges and Markets, regarding the specific measures to be taken against specualtive traders. They have also asked for information regarding the current price situation of the main goods in the large consumer basket, as well as on the sanctions imposed so far on violators.
The parliamentary group of the MRF– NEW BEGINNING expresses its categorical concern over the lack of sufficient firmness and resilience on the part of the control authorities regarding all attempts at speculative price increases. The protection of the incomes and interests of Bulgarian citizens requires real control, timely action and clear responsibility.
