“Madam Chairperson, I am intervening on a matter of procedure about this discussion. What I want to say is that there is still speculation here with regard to the manner of conduct of this discussion and declarations.
We discussed this topic at length yesterday. That is the right of Bulgarian citizens to vote, regardless of where they live.
I am responding to this procedure to make it clear in this auditorium that the Parliamentary Group of the MRF-NEW BEGINNING upholds the right of every Bulgarian citizen to vote, regardless of where they have chosen to live - in the United States, in Great Britain, in the Republic of Turkey, in Poland, or wherever else! To exercise their right and duty to vote! This is an inherent principle of the MRF and we will not deviate from this principle for a moment! This is a principle which forms the basis of the entire Movement, the rights and freedoms of Bulgarian citizens.
Any speculation on this matter that a given person might or might not have a vested interest is absolutely groundless. The right of citizens is not a matter of comment, nor should the right of citizens be commented upon – this is an inherent right.
It is for this reason that we uphold the rights of Bulgarian citizens and believe that they should receive their right to vote in order to achieve full democracy in Bulgaria. This is for the good future of Bulgaria, the prosperity of our country, our homeland and the path of democracy. Citizens' rights are at the heart of democracy."
