Increasingly severe e-scooter accidents require decisive action to preserve the lives and health of people.
Systematic and massive violation of the restrictions on the use of individual electric vehicles (e-scooters) – at unrestricted speed, in parks and pedestrian areas, after the use of alcohol and drugs, without protective equipment, etc. indicate that the law is not working.
We find it unacceptable for the lives and health of children and adults to be put at risk, leading to death and injury, just because some people choose to ride scooters without observing restrictions and with no thought for the protection of their own life and the lives of others !
Therefore, the Parliamentary Group of MRF-NEW BEGINNING proposes the introduction of strict requirements and strict control over the use of e-scooters.
These measures include registration of e-scooters, speed limit and their mandatory use with protective equipment. Rental companies will be obliged to ensure that users comply with the requirements of the law - that they over 16 and use protective equipment.
In compliance with the legal provisions, all mayors and municipal councils must adopt municipal regulations to implement the changes in the law, and to fulfil the requirements for transportation with e-scooters in built-up areas.
