Ivan Demerzhiev has threatened to reveal answers very soon. That’s right, Mr. Demerdzhiev! And that is just what I am saying – there need to be answers very soon- the whole truth about my flights which is clear and categorical! The entire truth about the crash barriers! Who did what and with whom, who stole and who abused!
But we want the whole truth about the passports, and the Mr. Demerdzhiev’s 411 – the alerts which we have been sending to the State Prosecutor for months – to deafening silence! The explanation for this silence is clear – either this is a political umbrella or there is fear. Or both. This is not an attestation for a democratic European state in which the institutions have to work calmly and freely. And not be pressurised and threatened or used for personal retribution against political opponents.
In fact, more recently Demerdzhiev, either at the dinner table or over a glass has been talking about corrupt schemes amongst the elite of Progressive Bulgaria. The question is whether he will have the courage and dignity to work on these alerts, to reveal the whole truth, or will he remain a toothless paper tiger.
Therefore, in order to guarantee complete transparency and reveal facts and circumstances, the Parliamentary Group of the MRF will submit to the National Assembly a proposal to invite Ivan Demerdzhiev, Minister of the Interior, to a parliamentary hearing. This is in connection with a pre-trial process in which he was accused of malpractice in connection with an annex to a contract for the processing of personal documents, Also with regard to the companies owned or controlled by Ivan Demerdzhiev, through which they own 411 properties (7 apartments and more than 400 rural properties in the Plovdiv region) with a value of about 16.3 million levs and with regard to which alerts have been submitted to the State Prosecutor. As of yet there is no movement.
The second proposal which will be submitted by the Parliamentary Group of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms to the registry of the National Assembly is to invite Ivan Demerdzhiev, Minister of the Interior, to a parliamentary hearing with regard to malpractices connected with public tenders for the installation of highway crash barriers and the use of monies paid for these tenders to finance the flights used by Delyan Peevski. This also covers the costs paid for these flights, their invoicing, the persons who paid the expenses as well as information on connected parties.
