Delyan Peevski, leader of MRF and the parliamentary caucus of MRF-NEW BEGINNING: If a state cannot save one enterprise, what can it handle!? The government should take up a plan to support industries affected by high electricity prices

The suspension of the work of the largest ferrous metal foundry due to expensive electricity and the fact that 540 people from the Stara Zagora region and their families are left on the streets is very worrying and dangerous news, which unfortunately finds no place either in the leading news or on the agenda of those who are currently sitting down to divide the portions of power.

As MRF-NEW BEGINNING warned even before the holidays, allowing the unjustified increase in electricity prices will have a detrimental effect on people and businesses. That is why we proposed a moratorium on price increase, but this decision has also become a hostage to those who want to negotiate for power, unprincipled and without caring about the people's agenda.

Last week, at a meeting with employer organizations, MRF-NEW BEGINNING committed to adopting a mechanism for compensation for businesses due to expensive electricity and gas, which not only increase the cost of production, but also repel investors and entrepreneurs, thus leaving thousands of employees in these sectors on the streets, without income and the opportunity to support their families.

Therefore, it is necessary for the government, regardless of whether it is caretaker government or regular one, to have a specific plan to support production in difficulty due to high energy prices.
If a state cannot save a single enterprise, what can it do?

Bankruptcies of manufacturing enterprises should not happen and no person should be threatened with losing their job because the business does not receive the necessary support and conditions from the state.

We at MRF-NEW BEGINNING will remain uncompromising in resolving any such case, because we insist that the state support people and business.
