MUSTAFA KARADAYI HOLDS KEY MEETINGS WITH PRIME MINISTERS AND EU COMMISSIONERS AT ALDE PARTY CONGRESS 2022

Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) leader Mustafa Karadayi and the accompanying MRF delegation had some key meetings in Dublin, where they are taking part in the ALDE Party Congress 2022.

Liberals from all over Europe have gathered in the Irish capital to draft a strategy for the future of Europe and plan measures for their participation in the next European elections.

The Congress is also expected to elect co-chairs of ALDE. Nominees for the position once again are the MRF/"Renew Europe" MEP Ilhan Kucuk and Timmy Dooley from Ireland. The vote is expected tomorrow.

Bulgaria is represented at the top forum by a delegation of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF), led by its leader Mustafa Karadayi and comprising MRF deputy chairman Stanislav Anastasov, MRF/Renew Europe MEPs Iskra Mihailova and Atidje Veli, MRF Central Operative Bureau (COB) member and former MEP Filiz Hyusmenova, MRF parliamentary group deputy chairman Hamid Hamid and assistant professor Dzhevdet Chakarov – MP and member of the COB.

At the Congress Mustafa Karadayi had talks with Renew Europe parliamentary group chair in the European Parliament Stephane Sejourne, Irish prime minister Micheal Martin, European Commission vice president Margrethe Vestager, EU commissioners Kadri Simson for energy and Thierry Breton for internal market, as well as deputy prime minister of Ukraine Olga Stefanishyna.

The MRF leader had a meeting with Guy Verhofstadt, co-chair of the Conference on the Future of Europe. The two made a review of the Conference outcome and what Bulgaria needs to do to adequately respond to the forum’s conclusions.

The MRF delegation was a diligent participant in the gathering of the ALDE group in PACE (the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe), where the synchrony of the liberal family in all political formats was discussed. The representatives of the MRF also attended an important reception given by the Renew Europe parliamentary group.

Mustafa Karadayi and the MRF delegation had a series of bilateral meetings with heads of liberal parties from most European countries. A main topic of the Congress, as well as of the bilateral meetings, were the steps that Europe needs to make to guarantee its food autonomy, to shorten supply chains and to ensure its energy independence.

At a heartfelt ceremony, ALDE co-chair Ilhan Kucuk presented the family of the great liberal politician and a friend of Bulgaria and the Balkans, Hans van Baalen, with a medal for his exceptional contribution to the liberal idea.
