Thousands of supporters of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms from across the country rallied in front of the National Assembly in Sofia on Wednesday to demand the resignation of the government of Kiril Petkov.
The leader of the MRF Mustafa Karadayi and the member of parliament Delyan Peevski got out of the parliamentary building to meet and cheer the crowd. Their presence triggered a storm of applause.
"We continue our battle against the oligarch Ivo Prokopiev," Delyan Peevski said in a comment of the earlier decision by the members of parliament to overthrew Petkov's government. 124 MPs in the 240-member National Assembly voted in favour of the no confidence vote.
"Ivo Prokopiev, who pretended to be the prime minister, said "We continue”. Respecting his plea, we continue until we topple Ivo Prokopiev himself and prevent him from further mugging this country, from causing people to pay for expensive electricity due to him and his solar parks", Peevski said.
