“On behalf of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms and the Parliamentary Group of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms – New Beginning, I would like today to address President Iotova with the insistence that a Consultative Council on National Security be convened. Bulgaria cannot wait any longer. Bulgaria and its people, the Bulgarian citizens need nationally responsible solutions. The Council must be convened.”
With this insistence, Iskra Mihailova, Deputy Chairperson of the MRF and the Parliamentary Group of the MRF-NEW BEGINNING, addressed President Iotova.
“We are observing a phenomenon that we have been facing in recent days – representatives of the interim government created by President Iotova have been avoiding meetings with the National Assembly. Prime Minister Gurov did not appear at either parliamentary hearings or parliamentary control. Ministers have refused to appear at the National Assembly. Consultative councils are being convened at the level solely of the government,” Iskra Mihailova stressed.
“We are a Parliamentary Republic. In this Parliamentary Republic, everyone bears their responsibility, including the National Assembly, but also the President of the Republic, who appointed this interim cabinet which is ignoring the laws of the Parliamentary Republic,” the Deputy Chairperson of the MRF added.
“Henceforth, we expect action and responsibility. This government was conceived by two persons. Today, one of the parents has abandoned it. President Iotova now remains as both mother and father. She bears the responsibility for this government, including compliance with the Constitution and the laws of Parliamentary Republic,” Iskra Mihailova said.
“President Iotova remains both mother and father to the Ministry of Interior. Who bears responsibility for what is happening in the Ministry of Interior? Of course, the President who appointed this Government,” insisted Ms. Mihailova.
“Who will be responsible for corrupt elections which are knocking on the door? We can see all their logical actions aimed at achieving unopposed victories, eliminating the right of everyone to participate in fair elections. Again, the responsibility lies with the President,” Ms. Mihailova stressed.
“President Iotova decided to appoint this Government herself. I won't remind you that we warned you, we said...Well, unfortunately, what we warned about is happening,” Iskra Mihailova recalled.
“It is your responsibility, Madam President, the orphan government has its mother. You must take responsibility!” Iskra Mihailova, Deputy Chairperson of the MRF and the Parliamentary Group of the MRF-NEW BEGINNING, exhorted President Iotova.
