“During consultations with President Iotova, we expressed our standpoint and that hasn't changed since then. We were categorical that the President bears full responsibility for the choice of the interim Prime Minister, and for the work of the interim government. This is what the Constitution requires," commented Iskra Mihailova, Deputy Chairperson of the MRF and the Parliamentary Group of MRF-NEW BEGINNING to journalists in Parliament.
“We expressed our opinion that the interim Prime Minister must be distanced to the greatest extent possible from the political parties. And, if possible, to possess skills, knowledge of the state and state institutions, to guarantee honest elections and the normal functioning of the state institutions during the work of the interim government. Those were our words. Nothing has changed. Only that today, Madame President of Bulgaria took the decision to appoint Mr. Gurov to the post of interim Prime Minister," Ms Mihailova stated.
“Mr. Gurov is closely linked to a political party. Mr. Gurov was a chairperson of the parliamentary group of PP-DB. Mr. Gurov has never hidden his affiliation and everyone knows that Ms. Iotova took the decision to nominate to the post of interim Prime Minister a person closely connected with a political party, and that he will present his interim government," Ms. Mihailova added categorically.
"From this moment on, the responsibility is entirely in the hands of the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister designated by her,”Iskra Mihailova declared.
“We are waiting to see how the government will be structured and what will be the proposals,” she added.
“But as always, there is good news – no one can now that Delyan Peevski, Chairperson of the MRF, appointed the interim Prime Minister,”insisted Iskra Mihailova, Deputy Chairperson of the MRF and the Parliamentary Group of MRF-NEW BEGINNING
