member of parliament for the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) in the 47th National Assembly of Bulgaria
Bulgaria’s National Assembly adopted today an amendment to the Bulgarian Citizenship Act, abolishing the citizenship in return of investment scheme, and voted on a decision to fully examine each of the cases of awarding the so-called "golden passport". The respective piece of legislation was amended thanks to the efforts of the MRF, fueled by the persistent demands by me and my party colleagues.
I am satisfied and expecting to see the successful achievement of our goal to prove the lack of any involvement of the MRF, and of myself, in the policy of granting citizenship in return for investment. I have no doubt that the audit of the granting of each "golden passport" will certainly expose the abundant lies and manipulations by employees and confidants of the oligarchic media syndicate "Capital" about my "participation" in such schemes and will disclose the real culprits who traded in "golden passports".
Their numerous lies and falsifications have also managed to deceive the United States administration. However, I am certain that this misrepresentation of facts will gradually be remedied, and I strongly believe in the impartiality and objectivity of the US justice system. The abolition of the policy of granting citizenship in return for investment, as well as the complete audit of issued "golden passports" is the right move to this end.
