Delyan Peevski, leader of the MRF and the Parliamentary Group of the MRF-NEW BEGINNING has submitted a case to the Commission on the Protection of Competition regarding a potential fuel cartel established by Lukoil to the detriment of people and business.

Delyan Peevski, leader of the MRF and the Parliamentary Group of MRF-NEW BEGINNING, has submitted a case to the Commission for Protection of Competition, requiring that they carry out an in-depth inspection of the activities and actions of Lukoil Neftochim Burgas AD and Lukoil Bulgaria EOOD. He has stated that such an investigation should examine the importation, processing and distribution of fuels, as well as the relations with other market participants, in the aims of establish whether there is formal or informal coordination between them - which is a cartel agreement and thus a violation of the law,

The notification states that there is a reasonable assumption that consumers and businesses are being harmed by the creation of a deliberate market restriction enabling the importation of fuels to carried out solely by Lukoil, with the consent of the other participants. This leads to higher end prices of fuel when compared to the prices in a state of real competition.

Delyan Peevski insists on immediate action by the CPC, leading to the full disclosure of the facts and circumstances related to the fuel market. If a cartel is established, then the law should be applied in all its strictness, and the rights of citizens and the interests of Bulgaria should be protected as far as possible.

The leader of MRF and the Parliamentary Group of the MRF-NEW BEGINNING, Delyan Peevski, has repeatedly contacted the competent authorities about the actions of politicians and ministers regarding Lukoil. Delyan Peevski has raised the matter of the application of the derogation and in the implementation of its obligation to return to the people 0.73 per litre of excess profit and the deferred payment of taxes by the company. He has also voiced his concerns about the relations with former Finance Minister Asen Vassilev and former Prime Ministers Nikolay Denkov from the Continue the Change/Democratic Bulgarian party, and the guaranteeing of a political umbrella over Lukoil, to the detriment of people and business in Bulgaria.

The position of Delyan Peevski, leader of the MRF and the Parliamentary Group of the MRF-NEW BEGINNING, is consistent in fulfilling the main priorities and the mission for a New Beginning and meeting the expectations of the people: that the government be committed to resolving their problems, and protecting the financial and economic stability of Bulgaria.
