Delyan Peevski, chairman MRF and the parliamentary caucus of MRF: "Vazrazhdane" are provoking democracy with a Russian baton law against the media and NGOs! Parliament should reject it outright

The obscurantist bill on foreign agents introduced by the openly pro-Russian party "Vazrazhdane" is a serious provocation to Bulgaria's national security and sovereignty.

The attempt to transpose laws from Putin's Russia into our national legislation is unprecedented.

Attempts to create "blacklists" of inconvenient people, organizations, media, schools and universities and the intimidation of civil society structures are the last resort of totalitarian systems.

The behavior of the parliamentary parties towards this bill will be a litmus test of their value orientation and affiliation, which is a very strong signal to the public.

The unity against such a threat and the categorical rejection of this bill is what the Bulgarian citizens and our Euro-Atlantic partners expect from the responsible leaders.

The MRF parliamentary caucus will vote categorically "against" any similar act of provocation against the value orientation of Bulgaria and the freedom of development of civil society and its structures.
