“I have alerted the Sofia City Prosecutor with regard to the statement made by interim minister Emil Dechev in the podcast on sega.bg. In it he states that the General Directorate for Organised Crime must investigate me on the basis of an allegation made by Teodora Georgieva, recently dismissed from the European Prosecutor's Office for serious violations. I have already invoked the SCP “ad hoc” on two previous occasions with regard to this allegation.
The threat that I need to be "interrogated by the GDOC" means that the interim minister, who is a magistrate, is either not familiar with legal matters related to his official duties as Minister of the Interior, or that he is serving the election campaign of parties connected to the PP-DB, in order to exert pressure on their political opponents, in the style of "our Ministry of the Interior".
With regard to the categorical ban on political figures, such as the interim minister, interfering in the work of the professional bodies of the Ministry of the Interior, the Constitution and the law are categorical – this is inadmissible. With regard to other interests and mutual connections between Emil Dechev, Teodora Georgieva and Andrei Yankulov - this must be established in due order by the SCP, and if such are found, then the relevant lawful steps to be taken.”
