Delyan Peevski, leader of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) and of the Parliamentary Group of MRF–NEW BEGINNING, held an official meeting at the National Assembly with General Hulusi Akar, Chair of the National Defence Committee of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.
The meeting was also attended by H.E. Mehmet Sait Uyanık, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Sofia, and Bayram Bayram, Deputy Chair of the Parliamentary Group of MRF–NEW BEGINNING and Chair of the Friendship Group with Turkey in the Bulgarian Parliament.
The discussion focused on the strong partnership between Bulgaria and Turkey, not only in the areas of security and defence, but also in addressing illegal migration and counter-terrorism. Both sides agreed on the importance of promoting mutual investment and strengthening trade and economic ties.
They emphasized the parliamentary dimension of the South-East European Cooperation Process as a key priority for achieving peace and stability in the region and for ensuring the well-being and prosperity of their citizens and countries.
