“After years of political interregnum, a large part of the Bulgarian electorate, have placed their overwhelming trust in Rumen Radev – a political leader who must now be congratulated. This is their decision – one for which he will now bear responsibility. He now has a stable and categorical majority which will assume the government of Bulgaria and the task of carrying the country through the difficult crisis and trials of the complex international situation, as well as the effect of the crisis on the daily lives of Bulgaria's citizens.
For the Movement for Rights and Freedoms, the result of the elections is a clear sign that our electorate did not succumb to the unprecedented pressure, that they once again entrusted us with the responsibility for their future, thus obligating us to continue to stand up for our cause - the Bulgarian people and a better and higher quality of life for them, wherever they live and whatever they are. We have proven many times over that we do not divide people by ethnicity or faith, or whether they live in small or large centres of population, towns or villages.
In the new parliament too, we will continue assiduously to protect and support the people by means of our policies, both in the social sphere and in regional development, in agriculture and in local government.
For the Movement for Rights and Freedoms, European identity and the Euro-Atlantic orientation of Bulgaria are an incontrovertible path with no alternative. Bulgaria must not deviate from this path and must not allow itself to question this value choice.
